Treasure Hunting

This evening we spent the night with our good friends at Gardner Village
We were on a mission that lead us to the Christmas shop for these little beauties

1ST

This is Squirmy's Baby ornament and I must describe to you the details that I feel this picture leaves out ... This is a marshmallow man standing on a chocolate and a graham cracker holding a baby marshmallow in a stocking that says first Christmas ... I just can't stop laughing at this "Smore" Ornament

2nd

This is a Pickle .. What you do with this pickle is hide him in the tree and then the first person to find him on Christmas morning gets an extra gift from Santa... The hubby hid it so well before I got the chance to take a picture of it that it took me a several minutes to find it and I knew what I was looking for ... We are going to have a lot of fun with this tradition

Do you have any cool Christmas tradition games?

Weekend Crafts

This weekend I made our christmas cards
I found some blank cards that had a spot for a picture
Purchased some red ribbion & bows
Found a Festive graphic for the inside and used a lot of hot glue and photo paper
[these are the three variations..the cards were $1 for an 8 pack@ target][I then printed our family photos out on photo paper and glued them to the cards fronts]

[then i printed this graphic on all the insides]

[Then I made all these bands by cutting 10" of ribbon and hot glueing it together with a bow then you simply slide it over the card]

And your done cute personal christmas cards

here is a sneak peak at some of my other projects at the moment

7 months

Dear Squirmy today you turned 7 months.. HOLY SMOKES KIDDO..Just the other day I was saying how I couldn't believe a 7 month old was my best friend.. but you know what your truly are and I would take our baby talk conversations of baoogoabdoo over any adult conversation because lets face it your gummy little smile gives more satisfaction to me then any intellectual conversation ever could.. and watching you grow and thrive fills my heart to the very top. Oh my how you have grown in the last month!!!

-You play rock band (your an awesome DRUMMER)
-You learned how to stand up in your crib
-You can finally reach the birdy on your jumper [and are now eating him for his numerous accounts of not playing with you]
-You have moved onto the next stage of diapers "cruisers" size 3
-You said MAMA YAY!!
-You watched your first Ohio VS Michigan game [Ohio was victorious]
-You learned how to drink out of a cup [its your new obsession]
-You have been to a new state [New Mexico]
-You have eaten turkey baby food [YUCK]
-You celebrated your first thanksgiving with your Mayberry family
-You saw santa
-you rode the carousel
-You wear 6-9 month clothing
-You weigh 16lbs 13 oz
-You are 27.5 inches long

and we love every bit of you!

Sleep Sack

If your a new mommy or you've been at the game for a while we all know there is one concern that is constently on the back of or minds SIDS
Halo has come up with a great solution SLEEP SACKS
they retail for around $30 and look like this

Squirmy grows all to quick and I don't really want to spend 30 bucks every 2-3 months so I made my own it was really cheap and super easy
the supplies you will need are
-needle and thread and less your are a lucky one and have a sewing machine
-a zipper I got mine out of the sale bucked for .49 cents and it is 14" [my son is 7 months old and about 28" long]
-fleece fabric [I purchased 3 yards for 3 bucks :)]
STEPS
-measure your little one on the fabric by puting a dot with a marker at his shoulder and then a dot about 5-6 inches below his feet
-draw our a pattern using these to dots as guidelines [i did this all free form]
-then cut out your first peace
-trace your first peace to make the second [make sure the top scoops more for the front]
-Sew the two together
-turn inside out & cut a slit down the front in the length of you zipper
-Sew zipper on
AND THATS IT YOUR DONE
it took me about and hour total to make this by
hand
and I even added this cute little label in that says for my little one by mom

Weekend Craft

I know its not Monday but .... here we go
This is a very wintery "Snowflake" baby set
[every thing kinda blends together]

This is the same pattern as my other baby hats except this time I add the little ties for my winter theme your can accomplish this by...

*ch 50, sc in second ch from hook, sc 48, tie a not in the end end cut the strings to make them look frayed* do this twice one for each side

sew them to the inside of the hat :)

These are the booties they are the same pattern as the ones I have done before but I ran into a problem with the yarn I was using it was to think and I had to start over several times

This isn't the greatest picture but I just loved these mittens they reminded me of the ones in the book were all the animal try to fit in the mitten

This is my pride and JOY I had thoughts of keeping if for my baby boy for two reasons 1)Squirmy loves it he was contently stealing it while it waited to go to its new home 2) I worked so hard on it so far it is the hardest thing I have done and it turned out so pretty Megan is very lucky that I love her so much or it would still be at our house
Now for the pattern .. I tried following one which I wrote about earlier but ended up developing my own which I find to be really easy and really pretty
Rnd 1= Ch5, Loop, Ch 3, 2 dc in lp, ch2, 3 dc in loop, ch2, 3dc in lp, ch2, 3dc, 1sc in the first ch of the ch3
Rnd 2 =*(ch3, l dc in each stich out to four (this will include one dc in the first ch on the ch2 corners,))* Repeat 3 times
**Repeat rnd 2 till squre is desired length **
Sew squares together add a dc border

HAPPY Crocheting
